Hello everyone! Welcome to the next Bi-Weekly Featured Anime!

Every two weeks we will present you three different anime's which we consider a good work to look at. It can be either a recently started anime or an old classic so feel free to visit the Otaku Theater/Retro Theater and tell us your opinion about the featured work!

Jormungand

Summary:

The series follows Koko Hekmatyar, a young arms dealer who sells weapons under HCLI, a weapons corporation.

As one of the company's unofficial weapon sellers, she secretly sells weapons in many countries while avoiding the local authorities and law enforcements as most of her work is actually illegal under international law. Traveling with her is her team of bodyguards who are mostly composed of ex-military veterans.

Her latest addition to her crew is Jonah, a seemingly emotionless child soldier who is skilled in combat yet ironically hates arms dealers. Jonah joins Koko as he wishes to find the arms dealer responsible for his family's death.

What follows is Koko and her crews escapades around the world.

Comment:

If you're in for a action-oriented anime this is something worth watching. Lots of shooting here and there, mixed with a subliminal plot of arms dealers and the question if they're really the evil ones. The characters are pretty crazy and wicked and make the series worth a try.

Summary:

Tohno Takaki and Shinohara Akari, two very close friends and classmates, are torn apart when Akari's family is transferred to another region of Japan due to her family's job. Despite separation, they continue to keep in touch through mail. When Takaki finds out that his family is also moving, he decides to meet with Akari one last time.

Comment:

Probably one of the most heartbreaking movies out there. It's about how a romance develops over time and the chances and misses the life provides us with. Hard to say more without spoiling but it's definitely a must-watch in my opinion.

To avoid confusion, this is actually one movie but was divided into three different parts.

Summary:

Steins;Gate is set in the summer of 2010, approximately one year after the events that took place in Chaos;Head, in Akihabara.

Steins;Gate is about a group of friends who have customized their microwave into a device that can send text messages to the past. As they perform different experiments, an organization named SERN, who has been doing their own research on time travel, tracks them down and now the characters have to find a way to avoid being captured by them.

Comment:

Comes close to a masterpiece. Very close. The first few episodes may be rather slow but then it's rapidly turning into a rollercoaster of emotions. You will get something from everything – Romance, Mystery, Action, Comedy and lots of surprises. All of this executed in an awesome way and supported by likeable and unique characters you will most likely start to like a lot. Really, if you haven't watched this yet you're missing something!

Brothers is the name of a trio who use their incredible gifts to accomplish seemingly impossible missions. Not part of any government organization, they work privately for large sums of money. Their leader is Macky Pluto Kara who has a brilliant mind. The other two are HEM, Homo Electric Mechanics, which means that although they are alive, their cells are made of silicone instead of proteins which all humans are made of. It makes them nearly invincible and allows them to have superhuman powers. Rickey Neptune Kara is a clone version of Macky while Memory is a female HEM who Macky also created. The Brothers are untouchable, even by the CIA, and carry out difficult tasks for their own benefit.

Kazuki is very physically pushy, but Hitomi assumes this is normal when people date.

However, their short relationship ends with an unmistakably criminal violation of Hitomi. Now, she keeps the reason for her pain secret from the people who care about her. Things only get more confusing when her brother and his classmates from college arrive to student-teach at her school. The student teacher in Hitomi's classroom is Ayane, a pretty young woman who clearly likes Hijiri. Will Hitomi be able to sort out her feelings for her brother and overcome the trauma of what was done to her?

His constant food-talk can win him friends at work, but it may also rub some people the wrong way. It seems like everyone who talks with him ends up feeling hungry!

The news of adorable five year old waitresses bring lots of business to the café including Hazuki, Machiko’s long time friend and friend of the family, and Miyajima, a college hopeful studying for his entrance exams. Together, they become a close group that spends their days at the café, enjoying each other’s company.

Her track record has been solid, but when a new threat appears online, it starts making all the headlines. A man who goes by Shinbunshi, because of the newspaper mask he wears, begins acting as a vigilante of justice. His message is simple: he can see what is wrong with society right now and although he doesn’t have the power to change it, he can help the frustrated citizens release their pent up anger from the crimes that go unpunished like people treating others like trash, corrupt government pushing their weight around and other issues the typical person has no control over. Although it starts relatively harmless, it quickly snowballs out of control thanks to the power of social media and the Shinbunshi becomes an overnight internet sensation with the severity of the crimes exponentially increasing.

Yokokuhan - sooooo amazing. brilliantly constructed story that keeps you glued to the pages. It doesn't do it justice but if I had to compare it, it would be a similar story to Death Note. If I had to recommend any series from the past few weeks, it would be this.

W-Name - Romance series for young adults but easily readable for both males and females. I really enjoyed the mystery surrounding the characters that slowly gets revealed and unravels around the main character. And since the series ended, you can happily read the entire story instead of waiting for a new chapter. Really awesome read.
My opinion:
The only one I'm most interested in reading is Yokokuhan, although it's giving me a bit of a Akumetsu/Death Note type of vibe. I hope someone scanlates it - it looks like it could be really popular~

Several months later, Kato Konomi, a teacher’s assistant, comes to Kaho’s high school. Although Ms. Kato doesn’t realize it at first, Kaho instantly makes the connection between her and Nonomi. Ms. Kato explains that Nonomi is her alias when she does events and that she has been keeping it a secret from everyone since wearing skimpy clothes will affect her position as a teacher. In return for keeping her secret, Kaho learns the techniques of creating a high quality cosplay outfit from her teacher.

On his seventeenth birthday, Amamiya Kota was going to ask his classmate Misora Hiyori out. He gets entered into a competition called the 13 Game where other people like Kota who were supposed to die return back to the world and given an option: locate and kill 13 other players or suffer the fate of death. Each player is assigned to a handler, mysterious beings with special powers, who use them as if they were characters in a video game. Kota’s handler, Merume, explains that there are players like him all over the country, each with a unique ability that helps them kill, and Kota has to kill 13 players within 1 year. With his demon hands ability that was inspired from his hobby of magic tricks, Kota must unwillingly participate in this cruel game if he wants to live.

The sole survivor and witness to the serial kidnapping case that drew national attention 10 years ago was Oyamada Yusuke. Since that incident, Yusuke has been able to see evil spirits and has been attempting to seclude himself from society. But one day, he meets Kanon, a member of the anti-doll organization. She explains that the spirits that he has been seeing are called dolls and are the manifestation of people’s incredibly strong emotions. Yusuke accidentally releases a doll named Masaki that even the organization had to resort to simply imprisoning her instead of destroying her. However, Yusuke learns that Masaki has a connection to the kidnapping case that he was involved in years ago!

Shirai Torajirou is also known as Byakko (White Tiger), a famous private negotiator. For a fee, he helps resolve problems in people's lives when they can't or won't go through official channels. He's an expert at reading people, and he deals with each case with a professional calm. He typically makes just one offer to settle with the wrongdoers, before he takes any action that will harm their careers. Dolls Folklore - Again, really liked the original storyline. It draws the reader in as it progresses because although it answers some questions, it brings up new ones that keep the reader glued to the pages.
My opinion:
13 Game sounds a bit interesting although once he kills 13 people, then what? I feel like he'd be sucked into another game in order to stay alive. Ad Astra - Scipio to Hannibal reminds me a bit of Historie, which is pretty interesting. The mystery element of Doll's Folklore has piqued my interest. I wonder how so many kids could go missing and yet the kidnapper is still not caught...

During its “Global Gamers Day” press conference, Namco Bandai has announced that it will be bringing One Piece Musuo (or One Piece: Pirate Warriors) to N. America and Europe.

Dragon Ball Z Kinect Confirmed

During that same conference, Namco Bandai has confirmed the rumor that there will be Dragon Ball Z game for the Kinect. The game will have over 50 playable characters, 100+ moves and 30 minutes of new anime content.

Rurouni Kenshin Coming to the PSP

Ready to battle

A Rurouni Kenshin PSP conversion has been announced by Namco Bandai. It will be a sequel to last year's Rurouni Kenshin: Meiji Swordsman Romantic Story Saisen.

More Guilty Crown: Lost Christmas Info Posted

The cast of the Guilty Crown prequel has been revealed; Takahiro Sakurai will play Scrooge, Kana Asumi will play Carol, Ayahi Takagaki will play Past, and Yu Kobayashi will play Present. The latest promo also showed that the game will use CG for the mechs.

The PC game will be out in Japan on July 26th.

Eureka Seven AO Is Heading to PS3

According to a Famitsu article, the video game adaption of Eureak Seven AO will be for the PS3. Namco Bandai has also announced that they will release the series as a hybrid pack, which will contain the anime and a video game.

Wii U's Games Will Be Released in Package and Digitally

Nintendo announced that games for the Wii U will be released at both retail and through digital download. The pricing will be the same for both versions. Retail stores will also the digital downloads and can set their own prices, perform sales, etc. Nintendo's reasoning is that it will give consumers a choice without sacrificing the retailers. The company also stated that 3DS retail games will be available as downloads at the eShop.

Rumor: Wii U's Graphics Is as Powerful as PS3 or XBox360... or Not

There are conflicting reports about how powerful the Wii U's graphics will be. According to some developers, Nintendo's next-gen console is not as powerful as the PS3 or Xbox 360. However a Darksiders developer stated that it is as powerful as those consoles while Gearbox's Brian Martel claimed that the Wii U is more powerful than the current-gen consoles. Another rumor is that the Wii U will cost $300 due to the fact that it has $180 worth of parts.

Nintendo will most likely dispel these rumors when they present its newest console at E3.

To celebrate 20 years of the Kirby series, Nintendo is going to release a compilation of older Kirby games. The collection will be released for the Wii.

Rumor: PS4 Coming Out Before XBox 720

According to a report on VG247, Sony is confident that their next-gen console (Code name, Orbis) will be released before Microsoft's successor, which is rumored to be launch during Christmas 2013, and that gamers should pay attention to next year's E3 press briefings. However, another source stated that all next-gen consoles will be out on 2014.

As for the Orbis's specs, it will use DirectX coupled with AMD hardware, which will be similar to the development environment between the PC and Xbox. It will also use custom chips based on AMD's A8-3850 APU and Radeon HD 7670 GPU, which will have a combined performance of both integrated and discrete graphics processors. Sony plans to have the next-gen console and Vita be connected in a way similar to the Wii U and its tablet controller.

The Xbox 720 is rumored to have a Blu-ray player and an "always-on” internet connection to prevent piracy. Like the Orbis, it is powered by AMD hardware as well. The next-gen console will also have two GPUs and a “four or six” core CPU; two of the latter will be for reserves - one for the console; the other, the Kinect. Speaking of the Kinect, the next-gen version will be built into the system. Apparently, Flextronics is currently producing the next-gen console though it is most likely developmental kits for game studios.

Persona 4: The Golden Adds More TV Shows

The Persona 4 remake will have more in-game TV shows. One will show artworks from Shigenori Soejima, while another is a month long special with anime clips. A music program called Hey Hey Hoo! Music King features new songs, and a quiz show called "Midnight Quiz" will be hosted by Teddie.

The game will also give you profile card, which can be exchanged with other players when you use the rescue system feature. The card will have your handle name, the number of rescues you made, a personal message, and your icon (you can pick your favorite character).

Just like the others, Teddie and Naoto has new ultimate personas. The former has Yamato Sumera Mikoto while the latter has Kamuy-Mosir.

The game will be out in Japan on June 14th and this fall in N. America.

Devil Summoner: Soul Hackers 3DS Remake Announced

Atlus is going to convert its PSOne and Sega Saturn game, Devil Summoner: Soul Hackers, to the Nintendo 3DS. The game will have some upgrades, which are full voice acting, shorter load time, battle animations, and opening animation by Satelite. Its Japanese release date is August 30th.

Dark Souls Coming to PC

From Software's challenging RPG, Dark Souls, is coming to the PC due to fans' feedback and an online petition. The game titled Dark Souls: Prepare to Die will have more content including new bosses (Chimera of the Tomb and Black Dragon), new enemies (e.g. Abyss Guard, Chained Prisoner, etc.), new NPCs, and new lands (e.g. Oolacile Tomb, Old Ruins, etc.). There will also be a new world called Lodran where you have to defeat the Dark Knight Artorias. From Software also revealed that there will be new armors and weapons for the players.

The worldwide release date will be August 24th.

Ni no Kuni: Wrath of the White Witch Has New Content for N. America

President and CEO of Level-5 Akihiro Hino revealed that N. America will have DLCs though he didn't say whether or not it will be free or priced. He also stated that there will be additional enhancements and contents (e.g. extra creatures) that was not available in the Japanese version.

The game has been delayed from this winter to Q1 2013.

Namco, Capcom, & Sega Crossover Game Announced

Namco Bandai, Capcom, and Sega are planning to develop a crossover game, which will be similar to the previous strategy RPG crossover, Namco x Capcom. Project x Zone is being produced by Namco Bandai though Capcom and Sega are also overseeing the project. All three companies are bringing their characters (in pairs) in the game. In an interview with Nintendo Dreams, Tetsuya Nomura teased about a potential sequel to the smash hit, The World Ends with You. She is nothing like the weapon he would expect, but is instead gentle, cheerful, and very eager to be of use to the people around her. She claims her name is Mayple, and she seems to be programmed as a maid and cook.

Soon, Kuro has set up a cafe for Mayple to run, where she can cook sweets and tea for everyone in town. It's going to be a rough road ahead of her, as many townspeople hate her on principle and will not shrink from violence against her. But maybe Mayple, who always keeps a sunny attitude, will be able to find a way through the prejudice and make a place for herself in the post-war world.

A collection of five spooky stories:

1) Tenchi Shinmei: Asuna Shio is a teenage girl with a very strong perception of the spirit world and has a shrineless god as a companion. One day, Shio's classmate is seen vanishing into a mirror. She reappears afterward, but seems changed for the worse in terms of personality. What has happened to her?

2) Gekkouchou ~Hyaku-nen no Koi~: A two-tailed tiger-striped cat is taken in by a girl called Mitsu and given the name Torakichi. Torakichi is no ordinary cat, and the love and tragedy between them may be strong enough to transcend a simple lifetime.

3) Friend Doll: Mizuno Sachi spends almost all of her time studying, thanks to her demanding parents, and she doesn't really have friends. There's a boy she likes at school, but it seems impossible to get close to him. Suddenly, her stuffed bunny, Mimi, starts showing up in her dreams to advise her through her teenage life. But what is Mimi's motivation for all this help?

4) Tonari no Yomi-san: There's an urban legend about a girl who killed herself as a teenager, "Yomi-san," due to her insecurity over her appearance. Supposedly, her father stuffed her body, and, in her quest to become beautiful, the body seeks to take parts from pretty girls. At one school, several pretty girls have been mysteriously injured. Could the culprit be the dead girl, Yomi-san?

5) Oni no Sumu Shima: Saki moves out to a rural area, where she has no friends. In her loneliness, she goes out to an uninhabited island, where she meets a new possible friend. He's a demon, but as Saki gets to know him, she finds him less and less frightening...

Soon her mirror is bought by a girl who can actually see and speak with her, though she professes to have no particular interest in tsukumo-gami. In that way, Kyou and her mouse friend come to their new home, which is a store. Soon she finds another friend in the worker Akane, a girl who can't see her, but who finds her fascinating nonetheless. As Kyou's horizons expand, thanks in a large part to her discovering that she can travel through mirrors, she meets other new spirits and people!

He works for the Muroto Investigative Agency, under Muroto Shino, and alongside Shino's teenage sister, Yuki. Oda Nobuna no Yabou - historical comedy series of what if all the historical generals in the feudal era of japan were cute girls. Easy read with a general storyline following the actual historical events.

Drop Og - Hoodlums in street fights sorta series. The main character isnt the one really strong in fights, in fact, one of the weaker ones in the whole story but uses different sort of skills to survive in the plot.
My opinion:
Not much really popped out at me, although I might be most interested in checking outMayple-san no Koucha Jikan. It might be interesting to see how a doll designed for war, deals with the hatred around her.

The main character is a student attending his high-school graduation. Due to his appearance and personality, he didn't make a single friend during his three years of high school. As he remembers his days in the school, he wonders what his life would have been like if he had made different choices. In particular he wonders about his life had he answered differently when girl from the cheering club asked him to join. Since the cheering club was disbanded, he feels he should take one last look at their club room before leaving the school forever. However, he is misunderstood by another girl that was waiting for her boyfriend and as he chases her (to clear up the misunderstanding), she falls down the stairs (possibly dying). He goes to check on her but ends up falling too. He wakes up to find he is back to his first day in school (three years ago). Thinking it's obviously a dream, he just tries to correct the mistakes he made during that day...until the girl shows up blaming him for pushing her down the stairs and what's worse bringing her three years into the past!

However, Lin is from the Church, and, although she is weak, she uses a special spell that combines their souls together, making them essentially one person. Whatever pain she feels, he feels and if she dies, he dies too and vice versa. However immortal he may be, her death would mean his own demise and he has to protect her from those who want Zeo’s head on a platter. Her original mission from the Church was to make him stop his criminal activities, but when Lin learns that the Church wants him dead, she questions her orders and joins forces with Zeo until she learns the truth.

The idea to relate pi (the ratio between the circumference of a circle and the diameter) and a girl's breasts in π is pretty ridiculous. I'm surprised someone hasn't scanlated this manga yet. Sekai Maou sounds a bit cute. I'm a bit curious as to how the protagonist in Tsuki no Yoru Hoshi no Asa 35 Ans will pick up the pieces of her life. I would think the husband would've said something prior to being 5 years apart, if there were problems...

Nishimi Kaoru has moved from city to city and school to school because of his father’s job. So the first day at his new school was just routine for him. Being intellectual and the new transfer student, he has always been seen as an outcast and all Kaoru had to do was bear it until the next time he moved. But things were slightly different this time. First, he started to get close to the class president, Mukae Ritsuko, and, secondly, unlikely as it seemed, grew closer to Kawabuchi Sentaro. Sentaro was infamous for getting into fights, skipping class and was an overall bad boy. Strangely enough, the three of them find common ground in music, namely jazz, and Kaoru finds himself actually enjoying the new town.

April Fools - Hidden group + Mixed Words

April 1st has come to an end and it's time to let in on our little prank this time.

If you're a member and have been active for the past week with at least one post you would have received a PM from me stating this:

We'll announce the new usergroup if this test proves to be successful. Thanks for your cooperation.

The neat thing is, is we actually made it so that it deleted posts. However, it only "appeared" to be deleted to that one member. Everyone else could see it. I got tons of comments saying "Sorry I deleted ~~ on accident *sweat*" lol

Out of the thousands of people that got the message only around 100 people messaged back either recognizing it as an April fools prank or being highly motivated to help! While this was a prank those that did contact me back are certainly people the staff and I will take more notice of and perhaps they will actually be recognized as staff here soon! So it wasn't all just a really mean joke :D.

But seeing as the first prank was more user centered we wanted something our lurkers might probably enjoy as well. What we did was ran a script that replaced various words with other words. Here's a list of what was changed.

Hunter x Hunter PSP Game Announced

Complete the Hunter exams in the PSP

Namco Bandai will publish a Hunter x Hunter action-adventure game for the PSP. The game, Hunter x Hunter: Wonder Adventure will focus on Gon and Killa as they take the Hunter exam. The former uses rapid fist attacks and activates the Change Drive to pull out a giant rod; the latter has hand-to-hand attacks and a skateboard. You can also use the Change Drive to switch character.

The game will be available in Japan this winter.

Rumor: One Piece: Unlimited Cruise Ep. 2 Coming to PAL region

Going overseas?

Even though Japan will get both episodes for One Piece: Unlimited Cruise SP, Europe only got the first episode, which Namco Bandai claimed that they didn't have enough space due to the various languages. However, it looks like that may change. The Australian Classification Board has posted a listing for One Piece: Unlimited Cruise SP2. Namco Bandai and Nintendo of Europe have not confirmed this information though.

Ao no Exorcist Has New Trailer

The latest Ao no Exorcist: The Phantom Labyrinth trailer reveals more information about the game play and story line. While the game has some RPG elements, it is mostly a visual novel with branching paths.

Accel World Will Have Video Game

Namco Bandai is keeping busy with anime-to-video game adaptations. This time, they are developing a PSP and PS3 game of the light novel, Accel World, which will also have an anime. Accel World Stage 2 will be a strategy game in which Duel Avatars will face off against each other.

Macross Movies Blu-ray Will Include Video Games

While there haven't been any Macross video games lately, Macross: Do You Remember Love’s Hybrid Pack will be bundle up with a video game titled My Boyfriend is a Pilot 2012. The game is being developed by the same staff that worked on Macross Frontier.

Gundam Seed PSP Game Coming Out in June

The release date has been announced for Mobile Suit Gundam Seed Battle Destiny. The PSP game will be out in Japan on June 7th. In this game, you can side with either Earth Federation or Zaft and there will be an original story line that wasn't in the anime series.

Guilty Crown: The Lost Christmas Will Include Animated Short

According to Nitroplus, the visual novel, which is a prequel to the anime series, will have a 12-minute animation. Production I.G. will produce this animated short and the original anime staff will be in charge of it. While the game tells how "The Lost Christmas" incident occurs and how it leads to the events in the anime, the animated short will tell a different story.

.hack//Versus Will Be a Fighting Game

Similar to Macross: Where is the Love? Hybrid Pack, .hack//Sekai no Mukou ni Hybrid Pack will also have a video game. .hack//Versus is a fighting game developed by CyberConnect2 and will support stereoscopic 3D. So far, the only characters revealed are Sora, Haseo, and a mystery character called "9". Sora is a twin blade user and her special skill, "Exceed", increases her attack and speed. Her ultimate skill, Final Rush, is triggered a coordinated team attack with her comrades. On the other hand, Haseo can switch weapons in mid-battle - his first form uses twin blade; second, a great sword; third form, scythe; and Xth form, dual pistols. His ultimate attack is called "Terror of Death Scythe".

The hybrid pack will be out in Japan on June 28th.

Lollipop Chainsaw Has Tie-In with Zombie-Theme Manga

Suda51's zombie hack-and-slash, Lollipop Chainsaw, will have some anime collaborations. Juliet Starling, the game's heroine, can dress up as anime and manga characters. These costumes, which will be available worldwide, are:

Saeko Busujima and Rei Miyamoto (High School of the Dead)
Shiro (Deadman Wonderland)
Haruna (Is This a Zombie?)
Manyu Chifusa (Manyu Secret Sword Scroll)

Rumor: Playstation 4's Code Name is Orbis

According to Kotaku, a reliable source has information on Sony's next-gen console, which supposedly will come out next winter just in time for the holiday season. Orbis system will boast an AMD x64 CPU and a AMD Southern Islands GPU, which can display games up to a resolution of 4096×2160. Games in 3D can be shown in 1080p. Unfortunately, this next-gen console will not have backward compatibly.

Just like the rumored Xbox next-gen console, Orbis will block pre-owned games. If you play a pre-owned game, you will be limited to trial mode or restrict content unless you pay to unlock full game mode. New games will be available on Blu-ray or on PSN. Discs will be locked to only single PSN accounts, which then you can be played the game off-disc, save it to your hard drive, or download it for free at a later time. In order to play the game, you must apparently be online the whole time.

Kid Icarus Animated Shorts Detailed

Story lines revealed

Kid Icarus: Uprising twitter feed has more details about the animated shorts. Production I.G.'s focuses on Pit's battle against one of Medusa's minions, Thanatos. Studio 4°C's short is about Medusa and her rivalry with Palutena, which will be far into Pit's past to the present, while Shaft's is about Palutena and “her attempts to deal with a great catastrophe in her Skyworld home”. The latter involves a cooking challenge of some sort.

Fire Emblem: Awakening Game Play Detailed

In Fire Emblem: Awakening, you can create your own main character (male or female) via "My Unit" feature. He or she will then meet Krom, Prince of the Iris Kingdom, who is the game’s other hero. Even though Krom is one of the main characters, a mysterious character who looks similar to Marth is in the game. It is uncertain whether this is the real Marth or an impostor.

Your customized character also have another purpose - you can share your character to other players via StreetPass. Another mode, Dual Tag, will allow players to cooperate with each other via local wireless. Players can also download maps via Wi-Fi by using SpotPass Mode. One of the game play is the Dual System feature. Allies that are next to you can join you in battle and boost your stats. Characters can also develop bonds with each other during battles. The game has over 40 character classes and you can switch characters' jobs.

Fire Emblem: Awakening will be out in Japan on April 16th and sometimes this year in Europe.

Sol Trigger - Imageepoch's Swan Song for PSP

Imageepoch has announced its last PSP game titled Sol Trigger. The story is about a group of freedom fighters who fight against a controlling church. The people in the resistance are people of light, who can control the power of Sol. Farrell is the main protagonist and is the next-in-line to become the leader of the group, Sol Triggers, because he is one of the few to control the "Golden Sol". His Sol weapon is a one-handed sword. Ema, Farrell's childhood friend, uses a gun and recovery magic while Valter, who seeks revenge against the church due to his best friend's death, has a scythe.

The power of Sol is the main focus of the game play. You can use Sol for skills, which becomes stronger as you use them. Likewise, using your Sol weapons will add more skills, which is known as "Sol Awake". A unique game feature is that if your HP reaches zero but you still have Sol left, you can recover. However, if you lose all of your Sol, you will reach the state of near death and have to go to home base to recuperate. You can also use your Sol for a kamikaze attack. In this attack, you will use up all of your Sol and will enter double-speed mode by pushing a single button; afterward you will die.

The game will be out in Japan this summer.

Arc System Works Announced XBlaze

During a special event at a Blue-Revo BlazBlue: Continuum Shift 2 tournament, Arc System Works announced one of two games in its "adventure project". The video game company has not revealed which game system the game will be for or if it's related to the BlazBlue series.

Elizabeth and Shadow Labrys Are New Challengers for Persona 4: Arena

Two new challengers

Two more characters are joining the Persona fighting tournament. This time Elizabeth (Persona 3) and Shadow Labrys are the new challengers. The former's Persona is Thanatos, which was Persona 3 main character's persona, while the latter has Asterios. Atlus and Arc System Works also revealed that Labrys summons Ariadne as her persona. While Labrys is now available in the arcade version, Elizabeth will be out on April 5th while Shadow Labrys will be available on April 19th.

The PS3 and Xbox360 versions will be out in Japan this spring and on Aug. 7th in N. America.

Persona 4: The Golden Will Have Many Upgrades

While the Vita remake has a lot of new events and game play features, there are also upgrades as well. The composer, Shoji Meguro, has composed new battle music for the game. This music will be played if you did not attack an enemy from behind; the old music, "Reach Out to the Truth", will play if you use a back attack successfully. The background has been updated as well.

In other news, Mari, the mysterious girl, will create the Aeon social link with the main character. You can also venture out in town and shop during evening. Atlus also revised the pop quiz questions during the school hours. The game also have another feature; the internal chat log function will help you keep track of events.

Persona 4: The Golden will be out in Japan on June 14th.

Square Enix Create Card Battling Game

Square Enix is developing a card batting game for smart phones. Kaku-San-Sei Million Arthur is supposed to about the "true" story of King Arthur. To Aru Majutsu no Index creator Kazuma Kamachi is in charge of the story while over 50 illustrators are working on the card illustrations. They include: Takehito Harada (Disgaea), Kohaku Kuroboshi (Sky Girls), Yuichi Tanaka (To Aru Majutsu no Index), BUNBUN, and VOFAN (Bakemonogatari).

Curious about the circumstances of her death the two create a paranormal investigation club and seek to find out the truth about it and the many other mysteries surrounding the school.

Kaito is one of the few genius teenagers that attend the school who has been given the title Einstein, along with his other just as brilliant classmates who were given the titles Galileo, Edison and Da Vinci. Together, they attempt to solve a puzzle that, since its creation centuries ago, has never been solved. But the genius students soon realize that there are dangerous forces behind the impossible puzzle.

Green Blood - set in post civil war New York. I really like how it's set in Manhattan when mobsters ruled the towns. Lots of heavy action/violence but what kept me interested were the characters and the overarching plot line of finding their lost father.

Phi Brain Kami no Puzzle - I really like the idea of this series. Instead of the traditional physically powerful characters, they have characters that use their intelligence and brain power to overcome their opponents. It would be cool if the reader got a chance to solve the mystery too.
My opinion:
Nothing really is striking me as very different, although I guess I'm a little curious about the puzzle in Phi Brain.
